The following paper by Liu Yuxuan, a doctoral student from our laboratory, and colleagues has been published in the international journal Bulletin of Engineering Geology and the Environment.
Gas explosions in tunnel construction projects such as subways have become a significant issue, with coal seam gas (also known as coalbed methane), primarily composed of methane, being one of the causes. This paper proposes a practical evaluation method for assessing the risk of gas disasters caused by coal seam gas.
