A tour of Akanehama Seaside Park was held on Sunday, April 16, 2023. Under the spring weather, the tour was conducted as an activity of the Habitat Creation Project Team (PT) under the Public-Private Cooperation Forum for Tokyo-Bay Restoration under the guidance of the Narashino Marine Conservation Organization.
In the morning, Dr. Sasaki participated in a meeting at 9:00 a.m. at the New Narashino Community Center in Narashino City, where he introduced the project "Improvement of Sediment Quality of Spawning Ground for Marbled flounder," a policy proposal of the PT. This project is not well known locally, even though it has been implemented in the sea area before Akanehama. Dr. Sasaki was given a valuable opportunity to introduce the project.
Afterward, we went to Akanehama Seaside Park to pick up trash and visited the adjacent artificial beach. Eelgrass had been washed up on the beach.
After the tour, we had a get-together at an Italian restaurant in Tsudanuma, which was an enjoyable social gathering. Dr. Sasaki would like to thank the Narashino Marine Conservation Organization for their hospitality and the PT members who participated in the tour.
